  I have always taken great joy in reminding people that the legend of Marathon results in some doofus dying after his oh-so-necessary 26.2 kilometer run. I just find it odd that what people get out of the whole story isn't "invest in carrier pigeons" or "maybe take your time over long distances", it's "run 26.2 kilometers like this guy who keeled over dead". Anyway, Avidly Wild Games' Our Darker Purpose. It's some of the most fun you can have sitting down!
